It started when I taught math and wanted to provide kids with opportunities to work on various skills on their own or with a partner when they had free time or after they’d completed their assignments. Eventually they became part of an independent box of activities I called Math Path. I can still see them smiling, rummaging through the box looking for games they wanted to play again and again. They use basic math tools like paper, pencils, dice, playing cards, a few spinners and a few game boards that you are free to copy. Most of the games are partner games but you might be able to adapt some for individual play. I have also shared the level of difficulty as easy, moderate or difficult.<\/p>\n
If you try the games with your family or in a classroom, I’d appreciate your feedback.
