I’m totally aware that I’m not a good juggler.\u00a0 If I’d been able to keep 3 blogs moving while marketing my debut novel, 84Ribbons<\/em>, this site would have remained active. But it didn’t and I apologize. Now I’m back and I’m completing my Educating America Workbook for teachers who are considering inviting volunteers into their days in their classrooms. I’ve reorganized my time to write an education-based blog every Sunday and hope for your continued support.<\/p>\n

So much is happening in education beyond summer hiatus in many places. It’s good to have time for rest, renewal and reinvention whenever it fits into your school or home vacations as we consider the ever-increasing pile of tasks assigned to teachers. Now is my time to return to writing about education and kids and families. I want to support all of the people involved as we work to improve student achievement. My ‘prime directive’ is to continue to write, talk about, and work in classrooms. It’s\u00a0 something I’ve valued since before I began teaching. So what can you expect from me as I return to write about this first love?<\/p>\n
