Use a candy or gum name that works as a compliment and give out a sample of that sweet treat:<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Starbursts\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>&#8220;You&#8217;re a Star, a Burst of energy in my classroom<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Mints\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong> Thanks for your commit-&#8220;mint&#8221;, encourage-&#8220;mint&#8221;, involve-&#8220;mint&#8221;,\u00a0 helping to create a nice environ-&#8220;mint&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Extra\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>Thanks for the EXTRA help you provide for my students<\/p>\n<p>2. Personalize a note with student fingerprints or palm prints used in a shape to match the season: tree blossoms, valentine wreath, winter snowflake palms.<\/p>\n<p>3.\u00a0 Plant marigodl or other spring seeds in terra cotta pots and when they sprout, give one to each volunteer with a note (use the words <em>sprout, plant, grow, blossom <\/em>in the attached note)<\/p>\n<p>4. Ask each student to write one word that reminds them of the volunteer. Print them on paper leaves, stems, and flower petals to build a flowery thank you card.<\/p>\n<p>5.\u00a0 Invite the volunteers in for a short thank you program where the students share ways the volunteers help them (sentences, poems, songs).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Thank you for sharing your ideas on ways to thank classroom volunteers.
