Back-to-School Note to a Teacher

By | September 18, 2016

We love our kids no matter if they are 2, 13, or 32 (or older!). When they live at home and are on summer break, our days are busy beyond our expectations. Even if we are working parents, we have more tasks to do when our kids are around all summer.

Now that most students are back in school or heading there soon, I hope all of you will find time to:

  • Take a grown-up break.
  • Spend time with an adult friend.
  • Clean out that crafts closet or whatever space you’ve planned on cleaning but have yet to get to.
  • Read a book on your list, just because you have the time.

And…

Thank a teacher for the nurturing hours they are about to spend with your kids. It doesn’t have to be more than a brief note, but it will mean a lot that you appreciate and support their time spent planning and now their time spent with you precious children.

If you are like me and have no kids in school, send a note to a friend who teaches. We hear and see the sensationalized news about teachers, but not often do we hear or see stories about all the good that educators do on a daily basis.

Now’s a great time to thank and encourage them as their year gets underway. And, if you decide to send along a small bag of cookies or a coffee card, you’ll put an extra wide smile on that teacher’s face!
