Family-School Shared Values

In this hectic world, it’s time to think about our shared concerns for children and youth. Here are a few of my ideas:

We should strive to make children important in our daily lives.

We need to keep communications open and as positive as possible.

We need to engage children in thinking and learning beyond books and paper activities.

We need to listen to children and value their ideas.

We need to monitor their interaction with social media and digital activities.

We need to encourage their downtime to include time away from activities to just relax and ‘play’.

We need to monitor the pace and encourage  peace of our lives to lower student stress.

The interesting thing about this list: it costs no money, only our time.
