Writing Update

People ask me what’s next on my journey as a writer. Right now I’m into research for a possible novel that would be about 2 years out. Up to now, I’ve written what I knew or what I’ve experienced; now I’m stepping into an unknown world that interests me, a world where I have only limited knowledge so I’ve become a library book hound. Luckily I have a friend who’s an expert so I’ll be picking her brain a lot!

When I take a break from that research I’m reading for my book club, looking back at a bedtime story poem, writing two blogs a week, working the kinks out of my Anna Mak stories, and writing quarterly newsletter for Educating America. These keeps me busy, but I still have time to volunteer to work on writing with third graders and with a senior citizen writing group at Chateau Pacific. I look forward to both groups. They inspire me with their ideas, questions and their enthusiasm.

Recently I’ve added a YA book class to my schedule. It’s led by Laura Moe, an excellent YA author and a finalist for the 2018 Washington State Book Award. The class meets the 1st Tuesday of the month. Contact me if you’d like to join the group. I’ll get the details to you ASAP.
