Your Classroom Support Matters

“How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.”  Anne Frank

It’s true, there is no need to wait. Even small positive steps bear positive results. So, today my goal is to suggest that while you may be on vacation, relaxing and restoring your energy, that you pull out your 22014 calendar. Look for  one or two hour a week that you might dedicate to a school near your home or near where you work.

Don’t have kids in school? Great! Schools can still use your support and you will have a chance to see what’s good in education. Share your career or hobby. Listen to a young child read. Help a student edit or rehearse a project. All of us have something of value to contribute. I’ll gladly talk to you about ways you can help.

Can’t get into classrooms during your work week? OK. We’ll take a different kind of support from you. Perhaps you’ll do research or use your contacts to arrange for a speaker to visit a school. Uncover one way you might support a school or classroom each month. I’ll help you find ways you can make a difference.

Not certain where or how to volunteer? Contact your local school, senior center or RSVP (Retired Senior Volunter Support) agency.

Still not sure what you can do? Contact me (Paddy@paddyeger.com) and I’ll find a connection for you. It’s that important!
