Display student work that shows each student’s best effort. Positive samples are as contagious as a smile and often nudge students to work for improved quality in their own work.
Encourage students to find the best on their work first and then to look for ways to improve/rework and resubmit sections where they need editing. Expect them to self-evaluate their work based on the standards/rubrics/expectations you have given them. (It’s always best to evaluate our own work rather than have others judge us before we’ve produced our best quality work.)
